June 7, 2019, is National Donut Day!

National Donut Day dates all the way back to World War 1, because of women volunteering for the Salvation Army! Women made doughnuts for soldiers, to help boost morale! Donut think that’s crazy?

National Donut Day was launched by the Chicago branch of the Salvation Army in 1938. It was in hopes to help inspire folks to give back and work in the community!

Nowadays National Donut Day is celebrated by popular donut shops giving free donuts out for stopping by in-store or with a purchase. Isn’t that a sweet treat?
