Get Ready for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a day full of family, football, and feasting, but most importantly it’s a day of giving thanks for loved ones and the things we DO have. Despite what’s been thrown at us this rollercoaster year, there’s still hope for the future and that’s something we’re all thankful for.

This wonderful day of eating until we can’t anymore is right around the corner, and we want to help you prepare for all the demands of cooking a massive meal for an entire family. It can seem overwhelming and like a lot to take on, but by breaking it down step by step you can get it all done in no time and possibly without a headache.

Good preparation starts with thinking about what you’ll need from start to finish. Begin with a simple question, what am I making? Once you have this figured out, ask yourself two things: how many do I need to feed? and what ingredients do I need? Now you have your starting needs list. Follow this by deciding what appliances, implements, and tools you’ll need to make the recipes happen. Do you need knives, spatulas, mixers, fryers, oven, stove, etc.?

The list may seem neverending, but many things you probably already have lying around your kitchen. And if you don’t, that’s okay. We have your back. If you need things for prepping like cutting boards, knife sets, knife sharpeners, can openers, or a basting brush, we have them in stock and ready to ship. Your pre-cooking tools are all right here, and when it comes to the actual cooking part we have even more options for you.

Whether you’ve decided to cook the turkey with the oven, an air fryer, or a deep fryer, it’s sure to come out tasting top-notch. Personally, deep-fried turkey is my favorite, but I’ve tried them all and can with absolute confidence that I’ve never had a bad turkey no matter how it was cooked. Just as long as it’s going to taste good on the turkey sandwiches in the days to follow, I’ll eat Thanksgiving turkey cooked any way (I don’t think I’m alone on this too)… And don’t forget your electric knife so you can quickly and easily cut your turkey. So now that the turkey is covered, let’s move on to sides.

We all know the classics: sweet potatoes, green beans, stuffing, rolls, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese. Anybody else hungry at this point? Anyway, all of these sides require different appliances and you guessed it, we have them all. Food processors, cookware sets, hand mixers, slow cookers, the list goes as long as the list of food you’ll be eating on Thanksgiving. We even have cast iron skillets if you like to make cornbread instead of, or in addition to, bread rolls.

For desserts, I think it’s safe to say the go-to for many families is pumpkin pie. Thanksgiving really is just a day for pie actually. Apple pie, pecan pie, sweet potato pie, all incredibly delicious options. And what’s one thing you just might need for making desserts? A stand mixer. KitchenAid is the most well known and has such fun color options, but we now also have Cuisinart’s vibrant mixers in stock as well.

And last but not least, we can’t forget to keep our guests hydrated. So you don’t have to worry about filling up your fridge, you might want to add a beverage center to your collection. They’re not as big as full-sized fridges, which is perfect for saving space, but they are the perfect size for keeping refreshments cold and readily available. Or if you really want to step it up, a single-tap kegerator ensures you won’t run out of cold beer.

Now that you’re all set for a smooth sailing Thanksgiving experience, we hope your hearts and bellies are full of love and laughter.
