Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Wings

This easy air fryer chicken wings recipe delivers crispy, flavorful wings in a fraction of the time—without the need for deep frying. Perfect for game day or a quick snack!

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder (for extra crispiness)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Optional for Sauce:

  • ½ cup buffalo sauce (for classic spicy wings)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon honey (for a slight sweetness)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer
    • Set the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and let it preheat for about 3 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Wings
    • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture (this helps them get crispy).
    • In a large bowl, toss wings with baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and olive oil until evenly coated.
  3. Cook the Wings
    • Place wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket (do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary).
    • Air fry at 380°F for 25 minutes, shaking the basket every 5-7 minutes for even cooking.
  4. Crisp Them Up
    • Increase the temperature to 400°F and cook for an additional 5 minutes to get them extra crispy.
  5. Sauce & Serve
    • If using buffalo sauce, mix melted butter, buffalo sauce, and honey in a bowl.
    • Toss the hot wings in the sauce or serve it on the side for dipping.
  6. Enjoy!
    • Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing and celery sticks.
