You probably know a laundry trick or two, but Electronic Express has compiled a laundry list of laundry hacks.
- Most Loads Don’t Require Hot Water
You do not need to use hot water when doing your laundry. More than 60% of Americans are doing that and as costly as it gets, it is also not environmentally friendly! Washing your clothes in cold water can save you on average $60 a year, assuming you do an average of 300 loads per year.
- Use Aluminum Foil over a Dryer Sheet
Dryer sheets are convenient for freshening up clothes and getting rid of wrinkles. Unfortunately, they can contain some harmful chemicals that can be damaging to your skin! Instead, get some aluminum foil roll it up in a ball and throw it in your next drying load. As clothes tumble around, they exchange electrons and the foil balls will eliminate static while drying.
- No Iron? No Problem
Ice ice baby! Don’t have time to iron, or don’t own an ironing board? Throw an ice cube in the dryer with your clothes to help reduce wrinkles. As the ice cubes melt it turns into steam and smooths out the wrinkles.
- Tennis Balls and Blankets
Throw two tennis balls into the dryer when drying a blanket, comforter, pillows, and anything else that needs a good fluffing. The tennis balls help the drying process by knocking around and creating spaces and make it faster and easier to dry.
- Vinegar
Vinegar is one of the most versatile products and should always be kept handy for cleaning. Vinegar will neutralize the most potent odors especially ones under the armpits. Vinegar is an easy and great do it yourself stain remover.
